Director of Kids Ministry

We are seeking someone to serve full time as the director of the Kids Ministry.  This position will begin July 2017 (or earlier). 

Requirements
  • Grow in your relationship with Jesus through personal devotions, Bible study, fellowship, and service.
  • Exemplify the leadership qualities listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Galatians 5:22-23
  • Fully aligned with the message, mission and ministry strategy of The Garden Christian Fellowship
  • Spiritual maturity to support the growth of a vibrant Kids Ministry (infant to 5th grade)
  • Excellent organizational and relational skills with a track record of developing volunteer leaders and teams
  • Strong computer skills and the willingness to learn new programs
 
 Responsibilities
  • Develop strategies to implement the church’s mission and values
  • Oversee all activities, programs, supplies, curriculum, budgets, and leadership associated with the Kids Ministry
  • Attend all staff meetings & leadership meetings (Victory Arrow & Servant Leaders Meetings)
  • Prepare quarterly updates
  • Give oversight to all aspects of the Kids Ministry
  • Oversee all aspects of volunteer management including recruitment, training, schedules and support
  • Ensure all volunteer security clearances are complete and up to date
  • Maintain an inviting, well organized, properly stocked environment
  • Continually evaluate events and programs
  • Provide primary point leadership for the team throughout Sunday morning services
  • Run summer Vacation Bible School
  • As a member of the staff, the Director of Kids Ministry will also help with planning and executing all church wide events and programs.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE’S QUALIFICATIONS

  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vibrant, personal, and growing relationship with Him, as evidenced by attitude and behavior
  • Degree or comparable experience relevant to the job: BA/BS in education, children’s or family ministry, pastoral care, or related church ministry preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience as a pastor of a Children, Student, and/or Family Ministry preferred
  • Ability to manage a growing Kids Ministry (around 150-200 kids per week)
  • Ability to train and coordinate a large team of ministry volunteers
  • Must demonstrate strong organization and communication skills
  • Needs to be capable of self-direction and demonstrate leadership
  • Able to multi-task and maintain composure under pressure
  • Vibrant personality that demonstrates natural magnetism with children and volunteers
